Over 250 Undergraduates Benefit from Ochake Education Support Scheme

 

Over 250 Lucky Undergraduate Students of Isiala Ngwa North extraction have benefited from the bursary awards sponsored by the Member Representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu.

The distribution of the awards, under the 1st Phase of OCHAKE EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHEME, took place on Monday at Okpuala Ngwa, headquarters of the Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, congratulated the beneficiaries on their admission into tertiary institutions, promising to make the programme an annual event.

Ochake explained that he embarked on the scheme following an inspiration he received from the exceptional leadership qualities of Okenze Ginger Onwusibe, describing him as his major motivator.

 

He called on the students to support the administration of Governor Alex Otti, whom he said has greatly transformed the State and deserves a second term in office in order to sustain the gains so far made.

In their separate Goodwill messages, the Member Representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ginger Onwusibe, the Deputy Managing Director of Signature Bank, Dr. Alex Alozie advised the students to apply the principles of hard work, dedication and commitment in their studies.

They urged them to shun social vices which are capable of jeopardizing their future, thereby bringing the name of their families to disrepute.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North, Amb. Chiedozie Uruakpa and the leader of Isiala Ngwa North legislative council, Hon. Alvan Chima applauded Chief Iheonunekwu for a well thought-out initiative, describing it as impactful.

The high point of the event was the announcement of additional monetary donations to the students by Rep. Ginger Onwusibe and Dr. Alex Alozie.
