Our administration believes in harmonious engagement, Emetu assures Ukwa people.
Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, has assured the people of Azumiri Ndoki community in Ukwa East L.G.A that the present administration in the state would get back whatever that belong to the state through harmonious engagement with Akwa Ibom state government.
The Deputy Governor who gave the assurance during a meeting with some leaders from the Azumiri Ndoki community at the government house, Umuahia, also assured them of government support in ensuring the overall peace and security of life and property in the area.
He therefore advised the leaders and stakeholders in the Community on prompt payment of compensation to individual affected by the road construction in their community, as well as to ensure a peaceful resolution of their issue.
While enumerating their concern on the road construction awarded by the Akwa Ibom state government in his speech earlier, Amb. Okey Emuchay, noted that the contractor handling the project failed in conducting environment impact assessment.
Lending his voice also, one of the stakeholders from Ndoki community, High Chief Ogbo Ubani pleaded with the Governor Alex Otti to intervene in the matter through Ministry of Environment, Lands, Works and Justice for proper documentation to forestall land grabbing with their neighboring community in Akwa Ibom state.
