Otti’s Aide Commits To Supporting Abiriba Women’s Cultural Organization In Community Development

The Special Adviser to Abia State Governor on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem has pledged to collaborate with leaders and stakeholders in Abiriba Community to find a suitable location for the proposed Abiriba regional market.

 

Chief Inem who made the pledge during a meeting with Executive Members of the Abiriba Women Cultural Organisation(AWCO) at Government House Umuahia, emphasized the potential economic benefits of the market for the community.

Inem while describing Governor Alex Otti’s administration as most Education- friendly, commended the present administration for its support to the education sector and promised to assist AWCO with their plans to establish an educational foundation to aid brilliant but indigent students in the area as well as their upcoming Maiden Annual Lecture.

He urged the women to work towards reviving and preserving the age-long traditional values of Abiriba women, which set them apart from others and to inculcate same values in their daughters.

Earlier in her address, the leader of the delegation and President General of Abiriba Women Cultural Organization, Mrs. Georgina Mma-Agbagha, congratulated Chief Nwaka Inem for his appointment and highlighted the achievements of the Abiriba Women Cultural Organization, which has been active since 1959 especially in the area of promoting education for both girls and boys, as well as caring for the elderly.

She noted that the organization, through its “Aid The Elderly” initiative, has established a Day Care Centre in collaboration with Abia CSDP and solicited the support of Chief Inem in their forthcoming annual event slated for 11th of November this year.
