Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has commended the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) for selecting Abia State as the host of its 2026 National Conference scheduled to hold from April 13 to 18, 2026.
The Governor, who was represented by the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, gave the commendation while receiving a delegation of the Institution on a courtesy visit. He described the choice of Abia State as a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in his administration and reassured the delegation that the State remains safe, peaceful, and hospitable to visitors and investors.
Governor Otti expressed appreciation to the Institution for recognizing the efforts of the State Government, particularly through the engagement of its members in various professional assignments within the State. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and strategic collaboration with credible professional bodies.
The Governor further assured NIESV of the State Government’s full support toward the successful hosting of the conference, while thanking members of the Institution for their kind words and positive remarks on his leadership and the ongoing developmental strides across the State.
Earlier, the President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Dr. Victor Adekunle, who led the delegation, said the visit was to identify with the remarkable developmental achievements of the Otti-led administration and to formally notify the State Government of the Institution’s forthcoming national conference.
Dr. Adekunle described it as a great honour to be in Abia State and commended the Government for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to the delegation. He expressed satisfaction with the relative peace, security, and aesthetic appeal of the State, and appealed for government support toward the success of the conference.
In a vote of thanks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Lands and Housing, Mr. Okorougo Aji, thanked the delegation for choosing Abia State and assured them of the Government’s readiness to partner with professional bodies in advancing sustainable development.
