Otti empowers Amuvi Primary Healthcare Centre in Arochukwu LGA with solar system

The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti 

The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has commissioned the renovated Amuvi Primary Healthcare Centre in Arochukwu Local Government Area with an installed 2kw solar power system for optimal performance.

The installation of the solar system was in partnership with Rachisols foundation and Tudu energy.

Mrs. Otti commended Rachisols foundation and Tudu energy for aligning with the vision of Governor Alex Otti’s interventions in Abia health sector.

“The solar system symbolizes a step in the right direction where no life would be lost again in our primary health centers because of energy failure” .

The Governor’s wife also encouraged the community to make use of the facility even as she reiterated her earlier resolve to seek 6, months paid maternity leave for nursing mothers and 3, weeks paternity leave for husbands to enable them care and support their wives.

Dr. Kalu Ulu Kalu of Abia Primary Healthcare Development Agency said that the vision of Governor Otti, is to make healthcare affordable to everyone in Abia regardless of status.

In their remarks, while the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche stated that the solar system installed in the primary health center is a testament that the Governor is walking the talk.

He has already paid the counterpart funding for all the primary healthcare in Abia to be installed with solar energy to power the facilities being provided, Prof. Enoch said.

His counterpart in the woman affairs ministry, Dr. Maureen Aghukwa said that today, innovation has meets compassion through the human driven policies of Governor Otti.

She charges the community to own and protect the facility against vandals.

However, Mr. Tuoye Dudu who spoke on behalf of Tudu energy and Rachisols foundation said that they were driven by the good governance of Dr. Otti to contribute and lend their support to the Abia State Government.

Ojojo cultural dance during the Commissioning 

The Commissioning featured the distribution of baby care kits to nursing mothers and cultural dance from Amuvi community in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state.
