The Traditional Ruler of Eziama/Mgbaja Autonomous Community, Ossah Ibeku, His Royal Majesty Eze Chiabuotu Emelike, has intensified efforts to strengthen local security by donating security gadgets to the Ossah Vigilante Group, also known as the Ossah Ibeku Security Network.
The monarch, who made the donation at his palace in Eziama, when the Vigilante Group visited him, commended the Ossah Security Network group for their “notable achievements” in safeguarding lives and property.
He urged them to extend their operations to tackling drug abuse and addiction, which he described as a growing threat among the community’s youths.
“Our records show your impact is commendable.
“But beyond crime, we must also confront the menace of drug abuse and addiction. I want to warn everyone in this community that delights in taking hard drugs and related substances:
”if you are caught, you will go to jail. We are working closely with security agencies, including the NDLEA, and offenders will not be spared.” Eze Chiabuotu declared”.
The Traditional Ruler, further cautioned residents against harboring criminal elements or bringing “strange faces” into the community, stressing that the fight against crime requires collective responsibility.
In his remarks, the Commander of the Vigilante Group, Mr. Uzodinma Nwokocha, expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler, describing him as “the first and only monarch” to openly support the security outfit with cash and material donations.
He praised the gesture as a clear demonstration of the monarch’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
The event also featured additional cash donations from prominent sons and friends of the community, further boosting the group’s operations.
