Super Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie has announced her retirement from both club and international football.

The 29 year-old made this declaration via her X handle @oparanozie9 she wrote “To my fans, family, and friends, thank you for the show of love and support over the years. It’s time to take a bow, as I believe there’s no better time than now. I’m officially announcing my retirement from professional football for both club and country…”

She played for Nigeria 35 times and scored 22 goals. She won four Africa Women’s Nations Cup and won the Golden Boot Award in the 2014 edition.

She played for Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens, Luleburgaz, Rossiyanka, Wolfsburg, Atasehir Belediyespor, Dijon and Wuhan Jiangham University in her club career.
