Oluebube Chukwu Foundation Leads Sanitation Drive At Nkwo Mbala Market

 

The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF), Saturday, held its monthly sanitation exercise at Nkwo Mbala Market Square in Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area.

 

Members of the Foundation participated in large numbers in the sanitation exercise which included scooping of gutters, cutting and weeding of grasses, as well as sweeping the market premises and surrounding areas, much to the community’s admiration.

Addressing Members of the OACF, the Founder, and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu commended their dedication to the NGO’s mission of service delivery and support for the needy.

 

Dr. Chukwu who affirmed commitment to sponsoring the foundation’s activities to meet its objectives, expressed delight that the monthly sanitation exercise, which began in Zone 1 at Orie Ngodo Isuochi, is now a permanent initiative.

He announced that the next edition will be held in Zone 3, Nneato, followed by Zone 4, Umuchieze and urged all members to remain committed to their charitable efforts.

 

The Governor’s Aide noted that OACF’s activities extend beyond sanitation, including free medical outreaches, interest-free loans to rural traders, scholarships for indigent students, and food palliatives for families.

 


Dr. Chukwu emphasized that these initiatives complement Governor Alex Otti’s humanitarian efforts, aimed at delivering greater benefits to the people of Abia State.

 

 

He assured that more people oriented packages would soon be introduced in the Foundation to ensure that their areas of coverage is encompassing and beneficial to the people at the grassroots.

 


Also speaking, the LGA Woman Coordinator, Mrs Salome Amaka, the Zone 2 Coordinator, Mr Ken Ifo and his Deputy, Don Silas Anumba, highlighted that the monthly sanitation exercise is part of their corporate social responsibility.

They thanked Dr. Chukwu for his support and assured of their sustained support to Governor Alex Otti’s administration which has given him the platform to serve the Umunneochi people.

 


The President General, Mbala Town Development Union, Chief Ndubuisi Ike, in his goodwill message, lauded Governor Otti for restoring security in Umunneochi and other parts of Abia state, which has given the people unrestricted movements.

 

He also commended the Foundation for their innovative approach to promoting public health and cleanliness and called for it’s sustenance

This is the first time an NGO is undertaking a spirited exercise of Sanitation for the benefits of the community“, Chief Ike noted.

 


Reacting to the development, some Community Members and shop owners in the market, including Mr. Obinna Ume and Mr. Chukwekezie Emeribe, expressed their gratitude for the voluntary clean-up exercise, which they said has greatly improved the aesthetics of Nkwo Mbala Market.
