Electrifying moment unfolded at the 2024 biannual August meeting (Nwaloma) of the Isuochi Development Union (IDU) Women Wing as they honored Oluebube A. Chukwu for his outstanding contributions to Umunneochi Local Government Area and Abia State. The event, held with great fanfare at Peace Comprehensive Secondary School Amuda Isuochi, elebrated Chukwu’s philanthropic efforts and commitment to uplifting the people.
High Chief Engr. Ochiabuto Orji, the President General of the Isuochi Development Union, led the presentation of the award. He lauded Chukwu for his invaluable contributions to the development of Umunneochi LGA and beyond. Highlighting Chukwu’s work through the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF), Chief Orji praised his dedication to the betterment of humanity, noting that the award was a fitting recognition of his efforts.
“Oluebube Chukwu has consistently shown a deep commitment to the welfare of our people, and his impact is felt across various sectors,” Chief Orji remarked. “This award is not just a recognition but an acknowledgment of his enduring legacy in our people.” He extolled.
Earlier in the event, Dr. Mrs. Obiajulum Mercy Ajala, President General of the IDU Women Wing, explained the reasons behind selecting Chukwu for this prestigious honour. She emphasized that the award of ‘Enyi Oha’ was a result of Chukwu’s tireless philanthropic activities, particularly his focus on empowering the youth and women of Umunneochi.
“Oluebube Chukwu has been a beacon of hope for many in our society,” Dr. Ajala stated. “His initiatives have empowered our women and youth, providing them with the tools they need to succeed. It is only fitting that we recognize his contributions with this award.”
Chukwu’s philanthropic endeavors through the OACF have touched many lives, offering scholarships, healthcare initiatives, and various empowerment programs aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of the people in Umunneochi LGA. His work has not only provided immediate relief but has also laid the groundwork for sustainable development in the region.
The ‘Enyi Oha’ award, which translates to “Friend of All,” reflects the deep respect and admiration the people holds for Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu.
