Recognizing this challenge, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu through his Foundation, the Oluebube A Chukwu Foundation, OACF has taken decisive steps to ensure that financial constraints do not stand in the way of academic brilliance and the potential that lies within these young minds.
Just like his boss, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, Dr Chukwu through the OACF is investing in the education of the indigent but brilliant students, with the aim to secure a better future for them and, by extension, the society at large.
Inspired by Governor Otti’s recent scholarship awards to 46 students studying at various universities across Nigeria, Dr. Chukwu has positioned the foundation’s educational initiatives in alignment with the governor’s forward-thinking vision for the state’s education sector.
The Governor’s scholarship program has been hailed as a transformational investment in the lives of youths across Abia State, and Dr. Chukwu has embraced this model wholeheartedly. By offering scholarships to brilliant students who might otherwise be unable to afford quality education, both leaders are setting a powerful example of how targeted educational investments can have far-reaching effects on societal growth.

To date, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation has secured JAMB Forms and granted academic scholarships to over 26 indigent students from across Abia’s three senatorial zones. However, the foundation’s support extends beyond mere scholarships.
In a holistic approach to youth empowerment, OACF also donates school bags, books, and other learning materials to enhance students’ educational experiences.
Furthermore, understanding that supporting a child’s education often requires supporting the family, the OACF also provides start-up capital to the mothers of these students, helping them establish small scale businesses that can sustain their households.
Dr Chukwu in a recent interview with Newsmen had stated that; “To truly support a child’s education, we must also empower their families. “That is why we have made it a priority to offer start-up capital to the mothers of our scholarship recipients, ensuring that they have the means to cater for their families while their children pursue their academic dreams”.
The scholarships provided by OACF cover one full academic year and is renewable based on the students’ academic performance. This structure encourages beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies and strive for academic excellence. It also reaffirms the foundation’s commitment to the educational advancement of youth, a critical step in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering long-term societal growth.
