Over one thousand youths under the auspices of Olokoro Youth Political Front have unanimously endorsed Hon. Barr. Jerry Uzosike for a second tenure in office as Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency at the House of Assembly.
This is coming on the heels of similar endorsements by various political groups and Councilors from Umuahia South Local Government Area.
Speaking during a solidarity visit on Hon. Barr. Jerry Uzosike at his Umunwanwa Country home, the youths who made their position known through the convener, Olokoro Youth Political Front, Obi Pious and the Secretary, Comrade Ikechukwu Emezuo disclosed that the endorsement on Hon. Uzosike was based on his track record of achievements at the state House of Assembly.
The youths resolved to purchase the party’s form for Hon Uzosike and threatened to sue him to court should he decline from recontesting in the 2023 general elections.
They noted that Hon. Uzosike has shown capacity and proved to be effective in his quality representation of his constituents pointing out that they were overwhelmed by his achievements and do not have any other alternative than to adopt him for a second term as he has what it takes to continue to represent the people.
Also speaking, Mr. Enyinnaya Izuogu and Hon. Odoemelam Ndubuisi noted that Hon Uzosike has redefined representation through his track record of achievements adding that he has the wherewithal to represent the people of Umuahia South State constituency.
Responding, the Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Jerry Uzosike accepted to run for a second tenure come 2023 and assured that he would focus more on the development of youths and women.
Uzosike, relled out some of the projects he executed in Olokoro and other clans in Umuahia South Constituency as well as his achievements in areas such as human capital development, agricultural and empowerment programmes, among others
He disclosed that over 45 individuals are being trained on various skill acquisitions through his”Ogechi Cares” Foundation and promised to take Umuahia south to a greater level of development.
Hon. Uzosike appreciated the Olokoro youths for joining other groups in Umuahia South that have earlier endorsed him as their sole candidate for the House of Assembly 2023 election.
He encouraged the youths to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), as it is their negotiating power and expressed optimism that Umuahia South would produce not less than 40,000 votes in the 2023 governorship election.
Contributing, the Deputy Chairman, Umuahia South LGA, Hon. (Mrs) Mercy Umesi eulogised Hon. Jerry Uzosike for his effective representation which she said has affected many lives positively in Umuahia South LGA and called on all to ensure that Hon. Uzosike is re-elected in the forth coming 2023 general elections.
