Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has flagged off a free medical treatment/ Skills Acquisition programs for the people of Nkporo Community Ohafia Local Government empowered by ViviSam life care foundation, a brainchild of the wife of the deputy governor, lady Vivian Oko Chukwu in collaboration with empower Nkporo initiative.
Speaking while flagging off the event at the Ugwujimba hall, Etitiama Nkporo, Sir Oko Chukwu said that the projects were aimed at impacting positively on the lives of the people in the area.
He said that the medical outreach was intended to bring medicare closer to the people while the skills acquisition centre would stimulate economic activities in the area by providing opportunities for the graduands of the centre to engage in various productive activities that would attract patronage
Sir Oko Chukwu appreciated the founder ViviSam LifeCare foundation and Coordinator Empower Nkporo Initiative for what they are doing for their people and urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity to enable them become employable and independent
Also speaking, the wife of the deputy governor, lady Vivian Oko Chukwu said that the programme is part of the good welfare packages mapped out for the people of Nkporo to empower and improve on their health.
Lady Oko Chukwu said the dream of the Dr. Okezie lkpeazu’s led PDP Government to ensure the good health of the people as well as remain healthy to benefit from lall the democracy dividends mapped out for Abians prompted the medical outreach treatment.
In their separate contributions, the Chief Medical officer of ViviSam life care foundation, Dr Ajike Kalu and Coordinator Empower Nkporo Initiative, Mrs Oluchi Uko said that health is life and the best empowerment anyone can offer is provision of quality health care which will be taken to the next level while the skills acquisition programs is to teach Nkporo people in various skills and thanked the deputy governor and wife for their show of love.
