Ohuhu Stakeholders distribute bags of Rice,other items for Christmas

 

Over two hundred 50kg bags of rice and cash worth over five hundred thousand naira (#500,000), have been distributed to the people of Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area,in celebration of Christmas.

The People who came out in their numbers,were seen jubilating over the gesture done them by their sons in the PDP.

Addressing the Crowd at the Okaiuga/Nkwoegu Central School, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr Aham Uko, said the stakeholders of the area, particularly the ones in government, agreed that they would celebrate this year’s Christmas for their people, particularly the indigent ones among them in a grand style.

The Commissioner stated that the stakeholders put together their resources to purchase the over 200 bags of rice and give a cash donation of #500,000, to help alleviate the suffering of the people this yuletide, adding that the Governor of the state,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, also approved the reconstruction of the failed portions of their roads,as well as the construction of Ohuhu ring road,to ease the traffic situation in the area this yuletide.

He stated that within three weeks the roads would be fixed.

The Finance Commissioner noted that the welfare of the people is held in a high esteem and the PDP family in the area,do not play politics with issues that border around the welfare of the people.

While assuring the people of their continuous support, the Commissioner advised the people to observe strictly all Covid 19 protocols as they celebrate, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2021.

In an Interview with Newsmen, the House Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly,Hon Keelchi Onuzuruike, said as a result of the economic situation, the stakeholders came up with the idea of distributing food items to their people,to help ameliorate the suffering they may encounter this season.

Hon Onuzuruike assured the people of more dividend of democracy, saying that the PDP stakeholders in the area would always be up and doing in ensuring they drag home what belongs to the people.

He enjoined his people to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner this period,shun all forms of violence,be mindful of their environment,with special attention to be given to all Covid 19 protocol.
