Ohuhu Bigwig,Chris Nwa-Abia,Joins Labour Party, Promises To Support Gov Otti’s Efforts To Develop Abia

 

Abia born entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief Chris Akachukwu,Nwa-Abia, has joined the Labour Party(LP)at his Isingwu ward Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area, of Abia State on Thursday 8 August, 2024.

Chief Chris Nwa-Abia was registered and issued with the Labour Party membership card by the ward executives of the party led by the ward Chairman, Comrade Obinna Umezurike. Other officials and stakeholders of the Labour Party were also present at the brief ceremony organised at the ward to officially welcome Chris Nwa-Abia to the party’s fold.

In his speech after being presented with the Labour Party membership card, Chris Nwa-Abia who is the founder of the Team Nwa-Abia Movement, recalled about his membership of the All Progressives Congress(APC),until the 2023 General Elections. He narrated that since after the Election, he has remained without a political party, while observing and consulting with his followers on the next political decision.

He said that the Governor Alex Otti led administration has never left any one in doubt as to his genuine desires to change the Abia narratives for the better, while commending the Governor’s leadership qualities. Chris Nwa-Abia maintained that he had no option than to join in the New Abia to contribute his quota to the progress and development of the God’s Own State.

“We are out to join hands with Gov Alex Otti to deliver dividends of democracy to the grassroots and we all know that this is one area that I’m so passionate about its development and welfare. He noted that even before the General Elections, he had been at the forefront of the campaign and efforts to address the plight of the rural communities through several personal intervention programmes.

Speaking at the event to welcome Nwa-Abia to the fold of the Labour Party, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information and Culture, Chief Chris Onwuegbu, thanked Gov Otti for making Abia one of the best run States in the country today.

Chief Onwuegbu who is also the Traditional Prime Minister of Isingwu Autonomous community, said that he came specifically to welcome one of their illustrious sons to the Labour Party, adding that the party’s doors are open to receive more notable individuals and groups, who share in the vision of the New Abia.

The youth and woman leader of the party in the ward, expressed delight in receiving Nwa-Abia into their fold, pointing out that he has joined the performing party”. “We are happy to welcome you, ” said Mrs Anosike, the woman leader, and “we’ll work with you for the success of the party.
