The deputy governor of Abia state, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has used the courtesy call of ministers of God from Ohafia local government to thank various interest groups in the area for their overwhelming support to the reelection of governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Sir Oko Chukwu said that it’s a thing of joy seeing the level of acceptance and commitment in Ohafia land by both the clergy and various interest groups to the campaign to return the governor for a second term.
He described Ohafia as a unique local government saying that the bond was so strong that no one either in Abiriba or Nkporo that does not have a relation in Ohafia clan and vice versa.
According to him, this account for why greater not clannish interest defined sharing of political appointment or location of development projects.
He appealed for the sustenance of that brotherhood among the three clans for the council to remained united in attracting government attention.
The deputy governor thanked the people for the honour done to his boss, the governor particularly the assurance of a block votes come 2019.
Sir Oko Chukwu thanked the clergy for lifting the government and the people of the state in prayers and for recognising the humble achievements of the Okezie Ikpeazu led administration in deepening the development of the state.
According to him, the prevailing state of peace contributed immensely in what the government have been able to do despite the spates of court cases she had to battled with.
He expressed his joy with the visit of the men of God and urged them to continue to pray for peace of the state stating that their visit and good wishes was a manifestation of God’s hands in the government of the day.
Earlier, leaders of the delegation, His Grace, Rt Rev Ibeabuchi Agwu and Rev Ibe Uduma Obasi commended the high level of humility on the part of the deputy governor and for allowing God to use him to serve and be a leader in the state.
The recalled his days as Speaker of the state House of Assembly of his contributions to atmosphere of peace prevailing in the state then and assured him of their support.
The ministers extolled Sir Oko Chukwu for his good working relationship with the governor in moving the state forward and assured him of their endorsement with the governor for 2019 polls.
The delegation said that even though they are not politicians but they desire good governance in the state and urged the number two citizen of the state not to entertain any fear as God is with him and later presented with a copy of a living Bible.
