To enthrone the best candidate through free and fair elections in a democratic setting, the electorate in Umuahia North State Constituency have been encouraged to obtain their Permanent Voter cards as it is their power to vote.
The Founder of Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation and Year 2023 House of Assembly aspirant under the platform of the PDP, High Chief Raymond Onyinyechi Ofoegbu, gave the advice in Umuahia, Abia State capital while interacting with a cross section of Journalists.
He disclosed that if given the mandate to represent Umuahia North State Constituency, his main priority would remain youth and women enablement and empowerment and Agricultural revolution as obtainable during the times of late Dr. Michael Okpara.
He said that his foundation, Onyinye Ohuhu was borne out of his love and desire to give back to the society which remained his backbone.
His words, “Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation is all about people.
It came from my name Onyinyechi which mean Gift. The Foundation is all about my people in Ohuhu clan, Umuahia North and Abia State people which is our home. In all I do, I feel like giving back to the society whatever I am blessed with and that has remained my priority”.
High Chief Ofoegbu insisted that Ohuhu clan desires the good touch of Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation in their government, and, “So come 2023 I am out to make a difference. I’m coming to represent my people just to contribute my own quota.
” I just want to come and change the orientation. I wish to continue from where Dr. M.I. Okpara stopped, his vision didn’t died for real, he only demised from this earth. I believe somebody should step into his shoes. Those selfless service we saw in him, those sacrificially mindset we saw in him, those developmental strategies which he brought to our place should be revamped.
” I want to take my people back to farming and I want to improve our Agro Allied. I want to see Ohuhu land connect through ohuhu Ring road.
” I want to see us have the best Secondary and Primary education which is the right of every citizen.
I also want to see our women all standing out beautiful because I realized some time in the past my mother couldn’t afford a wrapper, so that should be my first call. I will never see any woman wear one wrapper more than one month.
“I ll make sure that I will keep doing that, putting smiles on the faces of our mothers. I believe that if the mothers are happy, our society will be good”.
Ofoegbu seized the opportunity to commend Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu for the able way he has been piloting the affairs of the state.
