Office of Abia D.Gov. presents 2025-2027 budget, lauds Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr.Chinedu Ekeke, has commended the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for its effort to ensure government expenditure aligns with present economic realities.
Ekeke made the commendation during the presentation of the 2025-2027 Budget allocation of three billion, eight hundred and ninety three million five hundred and twenty four thousand and eighty nine naira.(3,893,524,089) for the office of the Deputy Governor to the Budget and planning committee themed: “Budget of Sustained Momentum’’ at the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Umuahia.
Ekeke who disclosed that the 2024 budget allocation of the office of the Deputy Governor was not realized noted that budget presentation is important because it helps government in spending within what is approved by the legislature and urged the committee to increase the 2025 allocation of the office of the Deputy Governor due to its peculiarity.
His words, “I strongly consider the theme of the 2025 budget proposal rightly christened budget of sustained momentum very apt and timely as it seems to consolidate on the milestones the present administration ably led Dr Alex Otti has attained all strata of governance especially gains recorded in socio economic and infrastructural development.
” We have recorded cordiality ,improved cooperation, understanding and peaceful co-existence for bounding communities at the intra and inter State border lined , it is our hope that with submissions of Abia State Government at various fora and resolutions reached the year 2025 will witness massive field on boundary demarcations.
“As a responsive and responsible government,we have articulated a rapid and integrated policy thrust to revitalize agriculture, provide sufficient food and expand the economic base of our people in areas of comparative advantage like Cocoa”.
The Deputy Chief of staff thanked the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and also the chairman of the committee, Mr. Kingsley Anosike, as well as his team for their professionalism and commitment in implementing state government financial guidelines towards securing the state financial resources
In his speech, Chairman of the Budget Committed and Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Kingsley Anosike explained that the 2025 budget of the office of the Deputy Governor will be implemented according to the guidelines of the committee in order to realize a feasible result.
The Commissioner who gave a very brief expenditure framework for 2025, said in 2025 the Ministry made some basic assumptions which are actually the directives from the federal, that the inflation will drop to about 2 percent next year.
