The Senior Special Assistant to the Abia state governor on works, Elder Richard Chidi Nwala has hailed the Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu on massive road infrastructural development in Abia.
Elder Nwala who made this remarks during an interaction with newsmen in Umuahia, noted that Gov. Ikpeazu has done so many signpost projects in all the senatorial zone in Abia, with special consideration given to Aba as the revenue-base of the state.
The former Permanent Secretary, Abia state Ministry of works, described road infrastructures in Aba as massive with Faulks, Kamalu, Omni, Emelogu, Ukaegbu, MCC, Umuojima, Umuocham, Umungansi, among other roads that used to be in terrible conditions fixed with quality drainages as well as street lights to match.
He noted that Faulks road was unaccessible for many years before Gov. Ikpeazu’s assumption of office in May 29, 2015 but has been fixed among other roads with correct specifications and the use of cement technology, stating that they would stand the test of time.
He maintained that Gov. Ikpeazu’s investment in Human Capital Development and Made-in-Aba campaigns have created good fortune for artisans in Aba, improved the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) among others, revealing that Aba under Gov. Ikpeazu has been declared by the Federal Government as the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SMEs) capital of Nigeria.
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor, who further described Gov. Ikpeazu as a total Governor that has touched every sector of the government, commended him for security and stability in Aba, adding that there is no more division in the state unlike in the past where there were many parallel groups in Abia.
He revealed that Abia recorded almost zero mortality owing to the proactive measures in the management of Covid 19 pandemic by the state government, applauding the Gov. Ikpeazu for the Tele-health innovations in the health sector.
The governor’s aide who called on revenue agencies in the state to show transparency, also urged Abians to be patient, and support Gov. Ikpeazu’s frugal government by paying their taxes, explaining that it is the only the government will deliver more dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
