The former Deputy Chief of Staff, office of the Deputy Governor, Dr Chris Nwagboso has lauded Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu (Ph.D) on infrastructural development in the state.
Dr Nwagboso who made his feelings known in a chat with newsmen said the on going development of Aba will flourish economic activities in the state.
He stressed the need for Aba residents to pay their taxes to enable government execute more projects in the city and urged government to put in place implementable measures to collect taxes from property owners in the state.
The former Deputy Chief of Staff who is also a commercial farmer noted that the raising and distribution of about four million improved Tenera oil palm seedlings to Abians to replace the aged palm trees across the state remains an indelible mark that will stand the test of time as well as boost the state’s economy in the nearest future.
Dr Nwagboso described mentoring and empowerment as pertinent in making farmers especially youths self reliant and stressed the need for government to come up with good policies that will compel every civil servant to own a farm and embrace agriculture.
He further harped on the need for the Ministry of Education to ensure effective and efficient regulation of public and private schools as well as make the reactivation of local crafts in schools a priority to enhance local technology and the economy.
On the increasing spate of insecurity in the country, Dr Nwagboso advised government to go back to the drawing board and come out with a proactive measure to tackle insecurity in the country.
