NPFL: Niger Tornadoes Hold Enyimba

The People’s Elephant, Enyimba International of Aba were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Niger Tornadoes of Minna.

The visitors opened scoring in the 39th minute when Kabiru Adeniji’s effort was deflected into the net. The lead lasted for only six minutes as Lucky Abdul Jimoh, in goal for the visitors, interrupted a goal bound move just before half time. Enyimba’s Oladapo converted from the spot to restore parity.

Enyimba are now 11th on the log with 17 points while Niger Tornadoes are 16th with 13 points.

In the Oriental Derby played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Valentine Odoh gave Abia Warriors a first half lead only for the Flying Antelope to come into the second half stronger and restored parity through Christian Nnaji and sealed all three points through their second goal scored by Chidiebere Nwobodo.

Nafiu Ibrahim scored a 65th minute goal to give Katsina United a 1-0 victory over Kwara United.

Ebube Duru gave Rivers United a first half lead over Wikki Tourist. Chijioke Akuneto and Uche Onwuasoanya scored in the second have to give Rivers United a resounding 3-0 victory.

Emmanuel Ogude Ifeanyi scored a first half brace to give Lobi Stars a 2-0 victory over MFM at half time, but Oladayo Alabi pulled one back for the visitors in the second half.

Akwa United and Heartland played out a goalless draw while Ismail Yahaya scored the only goal as Gombe United handed Remo Stars their first defeat of the season.

Kano Pillars were not as solid as they ought to be as they lost at home to visiting Plateau United by a lone goal.
