Abia State clubs Enyimba International of Aba and Abia Warriors of Umuahia claimed wins on Matchday 4 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Somiari Alalibo struck in the 52nd minute to hand Abia Warriors a narrow 1-0 victory over Katsina United. Enyimba, meanwhile, moved top of the table after a 2-0 win against Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
Elsewhere, Ikorodu City defeated Barau 2-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, with second-half goals from Joseph Arumala and Ayomide Cole. Plateau United secured their first win of the campaign, also winning 2-0 against Remo Stars, thanks to strikes from Tarabina Biweribo and Mafeng Pam, who converted a rebound after a set piece.
In Kano, former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute as Kano Pillars edged Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium. His strike came after veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali had earlier missed from the penalty spot.
Elsewhere, Kun Khalifat ran away with a 3-1 victory El-Kanemi Warriors at the Enyimba International Stadium, while the Rivers United secured a slim 1-0 win over Shooting Stars. Warri Wolves and Kwara United settled for a goalless draw, while Nasarawa United edged Wikki Tourists 1-0.
At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Israel Emmanuel scored in stoppage time to hand Bendel Insurance a dramatic 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes.
