NPFL: Abia Warriors Beat Heartland As Enyimba Pick Vital Away Point

Abia Warriors defeated Heartland Football Club of Owerri 1-0 in one of the week six encounters of Nigerian Professional Football League.

Gabriel Innocent scored the only goal in the 11th minute. This victory has moved the Umuahia based side to 7th position with one match less.

The other Abia club, Enyimba International of Aba took on Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. The People’s Elephant  picked a vital away point as the encounter ended goalless.

In other encounters Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars settled their ‘Battle of Stars’  2-2.

Mark Daniel scored as Kano Pillars defeated Niger Tornadoes by a lone goal.

Rivers United disunited Kwara United 3-0. Nyima Nwangwa opened scoring 13 minutes before half time and Rafiu Kayode Ishaq scored the second before Chibueze Duru put the icing on the cake in the 55th minute.

Rangers International quenched Mountain of Fire 2-0 while Wikki Tourist lost 1-2 at home to Remo Stars as Plateau United hammered Dakkada FC 5-0.

Nasarawa United dimmed Lobi Stars 2-1 as Charles Okafor and John Ubong Friday scored for defending champions, Akwa United, who defeated Katsina United 2-0.

Unbeaten Remo Stars are leading the table with 14 points, two points ahead of Rivers United who are yet to taste defeat as well.
