The Super Falcons have failed to qualify for next year’s Olympic Games slated for Tokyo after they drew 1-1 with visiting Cote Ivoire.
The first had ended goalless. Hence, the Ivorian ladies qualified on away goals rule.
This result did not come as a surprise as the Falcons have been having internal friction on who should captain the team between Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala.
The future of coach Thomas Denerby is not clear as well as Christopher Danjuma is currently in charge.
