Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) Akwa Ibom State has adopted Gov. Udom Emmanuel as its preferred candidate in the March 2 governorship race.
The endorsement followed a motion moved by Comrade Iboro Ibara, in the labour house, Uyo, which was was seconded by the NLC and Trade Union Congress(TUC) representative.
Congratulating the governor the chairman of NLC Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Etum Ukpong commended him for the significant achievements recorded in the past 3 years.
Ukong also commended Emmanuel for his worker friendly disposition and the prompt payment of salaries, and other allowances.
The labour Chairman thanked the governor for appointing some labour leaders to serve in his cabinet.
In his response, Governor Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the Labour Unions for the solidarity and endorsement.
He assured the workers of his commitment to ensure that workers need receive priority attention.
The governor said that Nigeria need leadership that is abreast with global economic requirement and urged the workers to vote in PDP to power.
