The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu has enjoined the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, partner the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti in promoting quality governance.
Dr. Chukwu who received in audience members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Abia State Chapter led by its Chairman, Mr. Felix Olunkwa in his office at the Government House Umuahia, today, said the government of the day under the Leadership of Dr. Alex Otti runs an open door policy geared towards transforming Abia to a better State.
The SSA to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau who is equally the Vice Chairman of NIPR, Enugu State Chapter, informed his colleagues that Governor Otti came with a different mindset to re-write the narratives of governance in Abia and as well to put things in the right perspectives hence urged them to become partners in progress in promoting good governance.
Earlier in his speech, the NIPR Chairman, Abia State Chapter, Mr. Felix Olunkwa disclosed that they came to familiarize with their own, Dr. Chukwu, and as well commend the developmental strides of the Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti which he described as monumental.
Mr. Olunkwa who came in company of a Senior member of the Institute, Mr. OJ Bob Amanze, further identified Dr. Chukwu as a staunch member of the Institute and a foot soldier in the present administration under the Leadership of governor. Alex Chioma Otti.
While commending the level of roads infrastructure development ongoing in Aba, Umuahia, Bende-Ohafia-Arochukwu and other parts of the State disclosed that the institute under his watch is quite pleased with the developmental achievements and affirmed that they are vanguards of good governance and would not fail to identify with one.
He disclosed that the NIPR is not aimed to fighting the government but to help promote its activities and inform the general public aright.
The NIPR State Chairman, however, assured the SSA to the Governor, of the institute’s readiness to become partners in progress in promoting good governance and informed him of their plans in organizing trainings and re-trainings of its members and public servants on the roles of public relations in governance.
” Public Servants and information managers need to undergo trainings and re-trainings as to know what to do per time and what public relations entails in public service.” Olunkwa stated.
Lending his voice, Mr. O J Bob Amanze, who was introduced as the Head of Lectures, NIPR, Abia State, stressed
the importance of Public Relations in the present day tiers of governments adding that the roles are significant and sacrosanct.
Highlights of the visit was presentation of proposals that engender good governance.
