Nigeria Needs  Leader With Private-Sector Background—-Ohuabunwa

Convener of the New Nigeria Group and Presidential hopeful, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa says Nigeria needs a leader with a private sector background, who can motivate the country to create wealth and address the increasing poverty level in the country.

Ohuabunwa, who identified bad leadership, poverty and lack of unity among critical challenges facing the country, said that Nigeria needs a leader who understands the concept of wealth creation in order to address the daunting challenges facing the country.

Speaking in an interview with journalists during the commissioning of a state of the art College of Pharmacy Building named after him at Gregory University,Uturu, Abia State, Ohuabunwa who is also the President Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria(PSN), argued that the country has been ruled by people who have no understanding on how to build a unified entity which he said has led to agitations from various quarters.

He said, “Nigeria is looking for a solution to its problem. We have tried the kind of leaders we have seen and found out that they are unable to pull Nigeria together.

“Nigeria needs two critical things; a man who knows how to motivate the country to create wealth. Wealth is the issue we have because poverty is ravaging us.

“We are meant to get a person who has a private sector background, who has been involved in founding and running businesses as well as private sector organizations like the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria to understand how wealth is created.

“The second is to unite and heal our nation,a country that has been broken into bits by people who have no understanding on how to create teams out of groups and how to build a nation out of a country.”

The New Nigeria Group Convener who disclosed his plans to run under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, however assured that if given the chance, he would tackle insecurity, attract investments that would create job opportunities as well as businesses that would create wealth and drive away poverty.
