As Nigeria celebrates her 62nd Independence Anniversary, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has expressed belief that the 2023 general elections will mark a defining point in the history of the country especially as she strives to attain sustainable development.
Governor Ikpeazu stated this in an Independence day message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka charged Abians to pray for sustained peace and unity in the state and Nigeria at large especially as the county gets ready to commence electioneering campaigns.
The Governor reminded political actors that the preservation of the peace and security of the people must remain their major focus adding that no ambition of any politician is enough to warrant or justify chaos and disorder.
He appreciated God for his benevolence towards the country and the state in particular inspite of the challenges faced and thanked Abians for their support to his administration in the last 7 years.
Governor Ikpeazu congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, and wished Nigerians peaceful celebration and restful holidays.
