A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) known as “Chris Akachi Foundation” has expressed readiness to form a productive partner with the Abia State Government in promoting the Education Sector and boost Infrastructural Development in rural communities across the state.
The NGO said the partnership would also complement the success recorded in the state government’s plan to fast track widespread socio economic development in the hinterlands and create better life for the people.
Founder of the Organization,Engr. Chris Akachi disclosed this to Journalists after a facility tour of some projects embarked upon by the Foundation in Umuda Isingwu, Umuahia North LGA.
Some of the projects include the ongoing construction of classroom blocks at the Nkwoachara Community Primary School, Ongoing construction Of a Mini Stadium, Isingwu Federated Civic Hall under construction and construction of Lock up Shops at the Nkwoachara Market Square.
Others include; the fully completed Umuda Okorocha Ultra Modern Hall with functional convinence and water BoreHole.
Akachi, an indigene of Umuda Isingwu, described Community Development as a very important aspect of social services,noting that the dilapidated state of Nkwoachara primary school in the community moved him to embark on reconstructing the school to the best standard to help bridge the gap of social inequality.
He vowed that the foundation will continue to invest in education and infrastructural development across Ohuhu land adding that the strategy is geared towards pushing the frontiers of development and bringing democracy dividends to the people.
The Philanthropist who is also known as “Nwabia” disclosed plans by the Foundation to embark on Scholarship Programme for indigent children in the Community.
While noting that the Empowerment scheme for indigent women and less privileged is ongoing in various Communites of Ohuhu land, Akachi, assured that the various Education and infrastructural projects embarked upon by the Foundation would be replicated in neighbouring Communites across Ohuhu land.
The NGO boss commended those in leadership position in Ohuhu land for their effort in moving the area forward through various rural community development projects adding that more needs to be done.
He called on other well to do individuals in the society to emulate the gestures inorder to move Ohuhu land to greater heights.
