NEWS ANALYSIS!! Abia Commissioner For Finance Offers Thanks To God For Surviving A Ghastly Motor Accident

It was a moment of thanksgiving and praise to God as the Abia State Commissioner for Finance,Hon Mike Akpara, gave thanks to God for rescuing him from a ghastly motor accident.
The thanksgiving service which took place  at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Province 5, Trinity House, Abia State House of Assembly Road, Umuahia, had the presence of the creme de la creme in the society, family members, friends, political associates and well wishers, coming together to witness God’s faithfulness in the life of the Commissioner for Finance, Hon Mike Akpara, who came to thank God for spearing his life when his car ran into a stationary vehicle during one of the campaign tours  of Dr Alex Otti, on the 31st of January 2023.
It was a miracle that Hon Akpara survived the accident, as he was flown abroad for medical treatment to undergo a brain surgery, which later did not hold because God intervened, granted him divine healing and he is alive today, having every reason to thank God,not just for spearing his life but for granting him speedy recovery to the extent that nobody would ever believe he went through such terrible experience.
It was therefore not surprising to see the calibre of people who turned up at the event to join the Akpara’s in their joyful moment.
The event which kicked off with a Church service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was climaxed at the Ochendo International Conference Centre,where guests were treated in some sumptuous delicacies,as well as drinks to go.
At the Church service, the Pastor in charge of Abia Province 5, Pst Vitalis Opara, while preaching on the message the Grace of God, said the grace of God is a free gift to all mankind, describing it as a gift of salvation.

Taking his text from Titus 2:11, the clergy  stressed that even though the grace of God is available to all,it can only be activated once you receive Christ into your life, admonishing the congregation to receive the grace of God, maintaining that no one has the right to be called the son of God without first receiving the grace of God.He added that, “As many that received Him, He gave them the power to become sons of God”.
Stating the importance of the grace of God, he opined that the grace of God teaches one how to have faith in God, how to confess Jesus and how to remain in Him, adding that the grace of God empowers believers to continue in the fight and never to give up on eternal life.
Pastor Opara, further urged the members to remain faithful to the end,so as to wear their crown of glory.
The family of Hon Mike Akpara alongside other guests danced to the alter to offer thanks to God.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after the church service, the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Austin Meregini, appreciated God on behalf of the Akparas, who he said was actively involved in the campaign process and all of a sudden, was involved in a ghastly motor accident.
The Deputy Speaker recounted God’s faithfulness in the life of the Abia State Commissioner for Finance and prayed for God’s protection,favour, good health and wisdom in every step he takes.
The Abia State Labour Party chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara, narrated how God delivered one of their team players,adding that when he saw the rate of his recovery,he knew God was at work, to the point nobody would ever believe the Commissioner was involved in such an accident.

Also, the Labour Party chairman of Arochukwu Local Government Area,  Onuoha Godwin Nkemakolam, said the Labour party family in Arochukwu is thankful to God for adverting such a dreadful motor accident, stating that the story would have been different if not for God, he prayed for God’s constant protection upon his life.

More guests trooped at the reception venue, including the Governor of the state, Dr Alex Otti, his wife, Priscilla Otti, the deputy Governor of the state, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, among others.
Other guests present at the event were the Commissioner for information, Culture and Tourism, Prince Okey Kanu, the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and industry, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu, their Works counterpart, Engr Oti Otuiche, the member representing Ikwuano State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Boniface Isieyi, the Branch Manager, Keystone Bank Umuahia, Dr  Obioma Akomas among other dignitaries.
