New service Chiefs: Group praises President Buhari

Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing new Service Chiefs to enhance the security architecture of the country.

The group expressed hope that the action of Mr President would position the security system to contain the raging insurgency and banditry which had ravaged the country.

The convener of the group Rt Hon. Ekperikpe luke Ekpo, a former Rep Member disclosed this on Monday during the inauguration of local government coordinators that would man the activities of the socio-political group at grassroots level.

He commended the new Service Chiefs for working hard in the course of their career to predispose themselves to be appointed to such high office, advising them to see their new assignment as a patriotic duty to write their names in gold and bring pride to their families if they perform as creditably as envisaged.

He also charged them on the task ahead and urged them to be dedicated and committed to the ideals of the group one of which is the promotion of astute leaders like Senator Godswill Akpabio who has been tested and proven to be a worthy leader.

He said, “we remain 100% loyal to Senator Godswill Akpabio and would continue to support his political interest in thick and thin because of his unflinching interest in people centered leadership”.

Ekperikpe who commended DIG Udom Ekpoudom (rtd) for accepting to serve as a Trustee of the group, opined that his wealth of experience and boundless goodwill would add enormous value to the organization.

The Convener also announced plans to urgently inaugurate chapter executives of the organization adding that it would be a 15 – Man executive for each local government area of the senatorial district with five (5) additional people from wards to give the chapters full complements needed to achieve set goals.
“The same is expected to be replicated at ward levels”. He said.

Hon. Ekperikpe also encouraged members to take the ongoing APC registration and revalidation exercise seriously stating that is the only way members of the group can be seen as bonafide party men.

Ekperikpe who admitted that success in politics is measured by the throng of followership charged members of the group to make sacrifices that would encourage the less privileged who may be handicapped in things like passport to be able to register, maintaining that the more they are in number, the greater the strength and chances of the party.
