Ndoki Clan Honours Fed Lawmaker, Rep Nkwonta

The people of Ndoki have honoured the Lawmaker representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Chris Nkwonta with the title: ‘Aha Eji Aga Mba Ndoki’.

This, they said it’s in recognition of his efforts and contributions to the development of Ndoki land, her people and beyond.

In a grand civic reception organized by Ndoki Community Development Union in conjunction with Ndoki Council of Traditional Rulers, held yesterday in Obohia Ndoki, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA) in honour of Sir Nkwonta, they further extolled the Legislator for his legendary strides in sustainable community developments in Ndoki land and beyond.

In his speech, the Chairman on the occasion and the Paramount Ruler of Umuokobo Kingdom, Umuagbai Ndoki, Oyigbo LGA, Rivers State, HRH Eze Sir Nwankwo Nwankwo, disclosed that the entire people of Ndoki clan are proud of him, hence, the grand civic reception.

Eze Nwankwo thanked Chief Nkwonta for his contributions towards Human Capital Development, provisions of critical interventions, and provisions of essential amenities in Ndoki land among others.

The Royal Father further described Sir Nkwonta as a man of great humility and excellence, urging him to sustain his community development services in Ndoki land and beyond.

In his response, the Chairman, House Committee on Climate Change, Federal House of Representatives, Sir Nkwonta, thanked the Royal fathers and the entire people of Ndoki for the honour.

Nkwonta who had earlier contested for Abia South Senatorial seat and lost three times, said that he was happy to be elected into a leadership position to represent his people at the National Assembly, Abuja.

The Ndoki-born Federal legislator also revealed that he has trained 145 people in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West till date, stating that more people would be enrolled in his scholarship scheme by January 2024.

He regretted that there was no tangible development in his constituency in the past 24 years, maintaining that all projects captured in the 2024 budget for his constituency would not be diverted but would be executed by his constituents.

Rep. Nkwonta promised to continue his philanthropic works to humanity, insisting that it was the only essence of representing his constituents.
