NCoS Decorates I47 Officers in Akwa Ibom

A total number of One Hundred and Forty Seven (147) officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Akwa Ibom State command have been promoted to a new rank.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command, ASC Richard Metong on Saturday, the 147 promoted officers were part of the 4,498 Officers of the Service whose promotion to new ranks was approved by the Hon Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa.

While decorating the officers in Uyo, the Controller of Corrections, Akwa Ibom State Command, Julius Ezugwu, charged the decorated Officers to be dedicated, committed, and more professional in the discharge of their duties to earn more promotions.

He further encouraged Officers who missed out on the promotion not to lose hope adding that it would be their turn next time.

He also appreciated the Hon Minister and the Controller General of Corrections for approving the promotions, noting that it has boosted the morale of the Officers for better performance.

“The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service decorated one hundred and forty-seven (147) Officers with new ranks on Friday 12th January 2024 at the State Correctional Headquarters, Uyo.

“The 147 newly promoted Officers of the Command were part of the 4,498 Officers of the Service whose promotion to new ranks was approved by the Hon Minister of Interior, Hon Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa FICMC, MFR, mni.” The statement partly read.

In separate goodwill messages, the Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Olatoye Durosinmi Esq, Sector Commander of FRSC, Matthew Olonisaye, representatives of the State Commandant of NSCDC and Commander of NDLEA, thanked God respectively for His favour on the promoted and decorated Officers, charging them to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibilities.

One of the decorated Officers, ACC Marigold Udeme described the promotion as a call to more service and dedication to duty even as she thanked God for His grace and the Hon Minister as well as the Controller General of Corrections for approving their promotions.
