NAWOJ Presents Trailblazer Award to Minister Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim

National Association of Nigerian Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has honoured the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, with a special recognition award as Trailblazer in Women’s Political Representation.

The award was presented last Friday by the Vice President, NAWOJ Zone D, Mrs. Chizoba Ogbecha, who led a delegation of women journalists to the Minister’s office in Abuja.

In her acceptance speech, Suleiman-Ibrahim commended NAWOJ for acknowledging her efforts in advancing women’s political participation and inclusive governance.

She also urged women journalists to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly his declaration of 2026 as the Year of Family and Social Development.

The Minister expressed concern over the lack of media coverage of the President’s declaration, saying it was a historic milestone that deserved recognition.

NAWOJ Zone D, which comprises Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Kwara States, and the Federal Capital Territory, presented the award in recognition of the Minister’s contributions to women’s empowerment.
