Members of National Assembly from Abia State have called for the re-election of the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, following their review of his mid-term performance.
The members including the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe, the member representing Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency, Hon Ginger Onwusibe, the Ikwuano/Umuahia Lawmaker, Hon Obi Aguocha, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Lawmaker, Hon Amobi Ogah, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency member, Hon Okwara Osonwa and the member representing Osisioma/Ugwunnagbo/Obingwa, Hon Munachim Alozie, firmly stated that there is no vacancy in Abia Government House come 2027.
At the Umuahia Township Stadium, where the two years anniversary of the Governor was held, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe moved the motion that the Governor would be returned overwhelmingly in the gubernatorial election.

According to the Lawmakers, having reviewed the Governor’s performance in the last two years, there won’t be any room at the State Government House.
In his view, the Isialangwa North/South representative, Hon Ginger Onwusibe stated that Abia state has left Egypt, signifying a departure from its troubled past, and there is no turning back.
He emphasized that Governor Alex Otti is steering the state away from the poverty and underdevelopment caused by previous administrations, adding that they are committed to ensuring the Governor’s return for a second term, so he could continue the progress in Abia.
In the same manner, members of the Abia state House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa, equally passed a vote of confidence on Governor Alex Otti and his administration and supported him to continue his good works beyond 2027.
In a motion moved by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Austin Meregini, the State Lawmakers said considering the efforts of the Governor in education, healthcare, economy and others, they would pull all arsenal to secure his reelection come 2027.
Governor Alex Otti, who assumed office in May 2023, has consistently emphasized good governance, economic revitalization, and infrastructural development as the core pillars of his administration, thereby, delivering the dividend of democracy to Abians.
