Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC); publishers of National Ambassador Newspapers and the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, (BCA) have pledged to form a synergy to project Abia State in good light.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Ag Director General, BCA, Mr Hyacinth Okoli, the Ag. General Manager, ANPC, Hon. Jones Nnanna Ike, maintained that there is huge need for the two government-owned media houses to synergize in order to educate and inform Abians on the vision and mission of Dr Alex Chioma Otti’s administration.
The veteran journalist pointed out that there is an enormous need for the media houses to collaborate in terms of sharing of ideas, news dissemination, among other things.
Mr Ike reinstated his corporation’s resolve to remain steadfast in the support of the new government of Gov. Alex Otti, towards repositioning of Abia for greater heights.
In his speech, the Ag. DG, BCA, Mr Hyacinth Okoli, welcomed the need to work with ANPC, publishers of National Ambassador Newspapers in educating, informing and entertaining the people on government programmes, policies and activities, among others.
In his words: “We are government establishments and we have a greater role of letting the people know of the activities of the government of the day.
“We have a government that is healthy and leads by example. A government that allows state-owned media houses to collect news from opposition political parties, various angles of the story”.
This, he said, were not obtainable in the past administrations.
They pledged their continuous support to the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti’s administration in his avowed commitment towards delivering new Abia.
In his vote of thanks, the Editor, ANPC, Bro. Kingsley Ugorji thanked the Ag. DG BCA and his management team for the warm reception while adding that both corporations would benefit immensely from the renewed synergy.
Top management teams from both corporations were present at the meeting.
