NAFEST 2022: Abia Contingent Of Council for Art, Culture Will Attend- Tourism Boss Assures

Preparations are on top gear for the State Council for Art and Culture to attend the 35th edition of the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) in Lagos State, the Abia State Tourism Board General Manager, Hon. Atuloma Onyekachi Jackie has disclosed.

Speaking when she received in audience the management team of Abia State Council for Art and Culture led by its Acting State Director, Pst Chibuike Ukattah in her office in Umuahia, Atuloma further disclosed the prepared of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to support the State Tourism Board and State Council for Art and Culture.

She made it clear that the Governor’s mandate is to develop some tourist sites in the state and project Abia State Cultural Troup to the national and international levels.

The Tourism boss who also stressed the need for the state cultural troup to be showcasing the State’s aesthetics at all government functions, informed that the governor is really happy, following a huge change in the Tourism sector and, “Feels excited to give all necessary support”.

Highlighting some of her past achievements when she was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Hospitality which include projecting the image of the state in a good light to the outside world, Atuloma expressed fulfillment that Abia State has recovered her stand in tourism sector.

The Abia State Tourism Board boss seized the opportunity to call on relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector to always carry the State Tourism Board and State Council for Art and Culture along in all their activities in the state as the two boards are closely knitted.

Earlier in his speech, the Abia State Council for Art and Culture Acting State Director, Pst Chibuike Ukattah congratulated Hon. Atuloma Onyekachi Jackie on her appointment as the General Manager of Abia State Tourism Board and lauded her for transforming the sector in a short period she assumed office.

While calling for partnership between the Abia State Council for Art and Culture and the Tourism Board, he also informed Hon. Atuloma of a dance competition been packaged by the board which was also designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state in a good light.
