N1.5 Billion Constituency Fund: ICPC Operatives Storm Abonta’s Residence

Operatives of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have continued to trail the member representing Ukwa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Nkem Abonta’s residence in Akwete, Ndoki over N1.5Billion constituency fund he allegedly embezzled.

Information gathered, revealed that the anti-graft agency had besiege the federal lawmker’s residence on Thursday, November 10, 2022 apart from their repeated visit previously.

Ukwa Leadership Accountability Association (ULAA) had written to anti graft agencies – Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Hon. Uzoma Abonta over alleged embezzlement of over 1.5 billion Naira Zonal Intervention Project Fund for the development of Ukwa Federal Constituency.

Details of those visits remained sketchy as efforts to speak with anti-graft agencies and Hon. Abonta on the development proved abortive as telephone calls put across to them got no response.
