The acting Rector of Abia State Polytechnic Aba, Engineer Mrs. Chidinma Ndukwe as the first female to be appointed to superintend over the state institution is a paradigm shift in the annals of the school and is optimistic that going forward, it will propel the school to a forefront. She made this assertion at the college pavilion during the 29th matriculation ceremony of the college.
The acting Rector applauded God and the governor of Abia State Dr Alex Chioma Otti for breaking the age-long jinx and pledge her total loyalty and commitment in ensuring that the vision of the governor for the school is translated into practical reality.
Mrs. Ndukwe prayed that the matriculants key into the vision of Abiapoly and study assiduously and work in line with the established rules and regulations reeled out in the school handbook handed over to them. She also advises them not to allow the academic journey which just started to be truncated by mere distractions that can be easily avoided. She tasked them to be prepared to explore their world through the available human and material resources that abound in the college.
Furthermore, the acting Rector reiterates that the school frowns at any form of antisocial behavior which includes membership or practice of any secret cult, examination malpractice of any sort of form, indecent dressings, and many others as the school will not hesitate in applying the instant laws of the school is punishing offenders.
Reacting Miss Williams of the Public Administration department, Miss Gloria of the Engineering department, and others were very excited for being so privileged to be admitted into the school and promised to explore all the learning opportunities the school will offer them and promised not let both their parents and school down.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the matriculants by the department heads and the admission of the various students from various departments of both ND1 and HND1 into the school proper by the acting Rector.
