My Administration Is Committed To Improving On Development Index Rates Of Abia- Alex Otti

Abia state Governor, Dr Alex Otti has said that his administration was committed to improving on the development index rates of Abia State through prudent and people oriented governance.

The Governor stated this while receiving in audience, a delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) led by the 59th President of the Institute, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa. He said his government would partner agency like Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to achieve good governance in the State.

Governor Otti, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu stated that, rebuilding Abia is not an easy task but with the support of agency like ICAN, the job would be easier for him. He thanked the President of ICAN for the honour of coming to the State for his first official engagement in the country after his investiture as the President and wished them a good stay in Abia State.

Speaking earlier, the President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Dr. Innocent Okwuosa said they were in the State to mark the investiture of the 10th Chairman of Umuahia ICAN District Society. He assured that they would support the administration’s drive for financial transparency and integrity.

Dr. Okwuosa, who congratulated Governor Alex Otti on his election victory in the State, commended him for his willingness and commitment in rebuilding Abia State which is evident in his immediate tackling of some challenges of the State, especially, the agreessive clean up of the environment. He appreciated the Governor for appointing their members, including; the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Kenneth Kalu and the Accountant General of the State, Dr. Njum Onyemenam into his government.
