Muslims urged to help the needy

Muslims have been urged to commit their resources toward assisting the needy and propagating Islamic activities during the Ramadan fasting.
Speaking with National Ambassador, in Umuahia, a Muslim faithful, Muslim Lawal, said there are blessing attached to assisting those involved in Ramadan fasting.
Reiterating the call of an Islamic preacher, Sheikh Ahmed Guruntun, at the weekly Tafsir in Bauchi, he urged Muslim faithful to focus attention in supporting the need of those in Ramadan fast. He also said that Muslims should consider Ramadan as period for seeking Allah’s forgiveness through night prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran and other worships as stipulated in the teaching of Islam.
Guruntun, also called on Muslims to use the period of Ramadan to offer social prayer for their leader’s to succeed, while advising Muslim faithful to give out Zakat according to the teaching of Islams, to have Allah’s reward in this life and hereafter.
According to him, given out zakat, would reduce poverty and improve economic status of the beneficiaries for better living
