Music is a tonic that heals the soul, Ikpeazu said

The Ossah Ukwu Choir Aba, has emerged the winner of the Nkechi Ikpeazu Cup, in a singing /choral competition tagged Abia State Praise Cantata.

Out of the seven participants that competed for the Nkechi Ikpeazu, cup, the ossah ukwu choir, Aba, came first while the first and second runner up goes to the Abia Prayer Network Umuahia, and the Redeemed Christian Church of God Choir, Umuahia, respectively in the competition organised by the wife of Abia Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu.

Presenting the trophy to the winners at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia, recently the Abia First Lady said every one who participated in the competition did well and because it is a competition there must be a winner but this does not mean that others lost rather it gives us room to improve our talents for the future competitions.

Mrs. Ikpeazu, described music as one of the special ways we draw down the blessings of God upon us, adding that even psychologists have proven that music is a tonic that heals the heart and body in times of sickness.

However, the Governor’s wife congratulates the organisers, participants and assures them that the event is not only about the challenge, but also winning souls through music and galvanizing God’s people to rejoice and offer a sacrifice of praise unto God for his immense goodness towards the government of Abia State.

In a brief sermon, the Coordinator of Abia Prayer Network, Pastor Pat Ikechi, said that there are countless reasons why a child of God should rejoice.

Pastor Ikechi, explained that to rejoice is to celebrate God’s act of benevolence, love, care, protection and provision for His children.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Abia state, Sir. Ude Oko Chukwu who was represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Joint Projects, Chief John Okoro, commended the wife of Abia Governor, for creating an enabling environment for people to passionately express themselves in a music competition.
