Mrs. Otti Hands Over 3-Bedroom Apartment to Widow in Abia State

Residents of the Ukome community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State have showered praises on the wife of the Abia State Governor, Priscilla Otti, for donating a furnished three-bedroom apartment to a widow, Mrs. Mercy Anosike.

Speaking during the commissioning of the house, Mrs. Otti described Mrs. Anosike’s story as one of strength and resilience.

According to her, despite losing her children and being left alone, Mrs. Anosike has remained a beacon of hope within her community.

Mrs. Otti, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Maureen Ahukwa, explained that when the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, heard about Mrs. Anosike’s struggles, he directed that she be relocated from her dilapidated home and provided with a new residence.

“Through my office, we have been able to support Mrs. Mercy Anosike and many other widows, providing them with a sense of belonging and care,” she said.

She added that the new house stands as a testament to the administration’s commitment and a tangible expression of its efforts to empower women and support vulnerable groups across Abia State.
