Mrs. Otti Becomes Matron of MWAN, Dr. Chizoba Achor Installed As 8th President of the Association

The wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has been decorated as the matron, Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) Abia state chapter.

 

Decorating the Governor’s wife, the President medical women international association, Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi said that Mrs. Otti fits the elevation considering the unwavering support and partnership she will be showing to the association.

Following the installation of Dr. Chizoba Francisca Achor as the 8th President of MWAN Abia state chapter at the Unique Life Hotel Umuahia, the Governor’s wife said that today as we witness the investiture of the 8th President and inauguration of the executive members, let us focus on a crucial aspect that defines your noble profession and the unwavering adherence to a code of conduct.

Mrs. Otti also reiterates that it is a commitment to serve humanity, particularly the vulnerable among us in the society.

 

According to her, “this is a shared vision that resonates deeply with the administration of Dr. Alex Otti and the ethos of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria” she said.

 

However, starting from next year, we plan to initiate medical outreaches, provide free medical treatments, and more. I look forward to collaborating with you to accomplish the project’s objectives.

 

In her remarks, the 8th President of MWAN Abia state chapter, Dr. Chizoba Francisca Achor outline her vision for the association to includes advocating for the elimination of obnoxious widowhood practices, advocating and creating awareness for the promotion of health programmes through the world health, mentoring medical students and young medical doctors.

Others are partnering with relevant agencies to promote health programmes, continuing in the campaign against sexual violence and gender based violence against women and the girl child and lot more.

 

However, she thanked the state government for her unwavering efforts to revitalise the health sector and commended her predecessors led by Dr. Patricia Ejikem.

 

Meanwhile, the commissioner for health in Abia state, Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo said that she is now delighted that the association is towing the right path and affirms Governor Otti’s commitment towards revamping the health sector.
