MOUAU Bursar, Librarian Bow Out

The Vice-Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, has advised the staff of the institution not to pride themselves in any position they find themselves rather to work with the mindset that a day of accountability will be required of them.

The Vice-Chancellor gave the admonition at a Valedictory session of the University management organised in honour of Elder Joseph Kalu and Elder Uche Arua as they bowed out after the completion of their tenures as the University bursar and librarian respectively.

Prof. Iwe thanked God and rejoiced with the duo for a successful tenure. He pointed out that any position is a privilege and is not to be abused nor to be prideful about but rather an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the university. He noted that a time of rendering account of stewardship will come which calls for those in authority to show high level of integrity in the discharge of their duties.

The outgoing bursar, Elder Joseph Kalu and his librarian counterpart, Elder Uche Arua in their separate remarks thanked God for the grace to complete their tenures and handover to their successors successfully. They appreciated the University management and staff for the support and contributions received from them while in office. They promised to lend supportive hands to their successors whenever the need arises.

The Registrar, Mrs. Jacinta Ogwo-Agu; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Udo Herbert; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Franca Elechi Asawalam amongst other management staff in their various goodwill messages thanked the bursar and the librarian for serving their various office meritoriously and charged the incoming officers to learn from their immediate predecessors in order to do better than they did. They enjoined the outgoing officers to always assist and support the new ones any time their inputs are needed.

The incoming bursar, Mr. Ugochukwu Ironkwe is the former director of Budget and Expenses while Dr. Isaac Ogbonna is the librarian. They are currently on acting capacity.
