Miss Precious Okorie Emerges One Day Governor Of Abia State

 

Miss Okorie Precious, an SS3 Student of Galaxy Gem Aba, has emerged the 2021 one day Governor of Abia State.

 

Speaking at the Aba Lodge, while handing over to Miss Okorie, an indigene of Item LGA, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu while congratulated her on her emergence, said the reason behind the annual one day Governor is to inspire young ones to be leaders of tomorrow.

 

According to the Governor, giving opportunities to young ones to lead will give them hope and inspire them to be the best in what ever they set out to do.

 

He admonished the youths to be diligent and focused in giving responsibility and pledged to continue to encourage the youths through the annual programme.

Earlier in her speech, the one day Governor, Miss Okorie Precious commended the laudable achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in many spheres of the state economy especially in promoting Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

 

She pledged to prioritize the welfare of the people as well as bring to the fore policies and programmes that will further promote the welfare and development of the Girl Child.

 

Miss Okorie equally promised to consolidate on the gains of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration,set up a functional Children’s parliament and assured that her team will be good Ambassadors of the state.

Speaking earlier, the coordinator of the program and former Special Adviser to the Governor on Teenage Matters, Mrs Chinemenma Umesiaka explained that the motive behind the “one Day Governor”series is to inspire the young ones to truly know that education is key and prepare them for leadership position.
She thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for haven sustained the program which attests to the fact that his is truly a scholar in Governance, adding that the event which has seen winners emerging through a keenly contested competition across the 3 zones of the state has produced 3 Girls and a Boy.
