Minority Whip Charges Youths on Food Production

The Minority Whip and member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Onyekwere Mike Ukoha, has charged members of Action Youth of Abia (Arochukwu LGA Chapter), on food production.

Hon. Ukoha, gave the charge at Ututu Civic Centre, Ututu, during a quarterly meeting of the group, explained that there is need for them to form cooperatives and fully involve in large scale food production, for the LGA.

The lawmaker, hinted that he is a man of equity, stating that all he has done within the last one year, has always been evenly distributed across the five clans in the LGA, adding that such will remain the central guiding principle of his policy.

He went further to emphasise his commitment in ensuring that his constituents, participate in the Federal government programme on Agriculture, through the NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank (A subsidiary of the CBN).

He advised the youths, to engage fully in agriculture, revealing that if we can do about 100 hectare of cassava, there will be hundred of employments for our youths.

Continuing, the lawmaker advised them to shun unnecessary criticisms and come up with ideas and positive solutions, since his office is willing to partner with the youths.

In his speech, the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Onoh Chukwuma, thanked the lawmaker for finding time to come, despite his tight schedules.

He explained that the vision of Action Youth of Abia, is to deviate youths of the state from political thuggery and other vices and refocused their minds on something meaningful.

Comrade Chukwuma Onoh, went further to add that the association, will help them to hold our political office holders accountable, in their various positions.

He expressed delight in what the lawmaker has been able to achieve within the space of time and plead with him to appoint his aides across the five clans of the LGA.

On his part, a member of the group, Hon. Sam Charles, thanked the lawmaker for his visit.

He explained that the Action Youth of Abia is for Justice and Equity, adding that the group believed in objective criticisms, which can make our leaders to be proactive in their job.

Hon. Sam expressed delight in their lawmaker and prayed God to continue to give him the requisite wisdom, in his assignment.
