Methodist Church Marks 30 Years, Honours Dr Chukwu for Outstanding Service

Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN), Diocese of Nneochi, has today (August 3, 2025) marked her 30th Anniversary at Wesley Cathedral, Ngodo Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

The milestone celebration commemorated three decades of spiritual growth, community impact, and unwavering faith within the Diocese.

In an address by the Bishop of the Diocese of Nneochi, Rt. Rev. I.K. Tasie, he lauded past church leaders, government officials, and the congregation for their dedication while reflecting on the Diocese’s achievements and challenges.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Head, Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau of Abia State, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu was among the distinguished personalities honoured with the prestigious title of Elder of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Nneochi Diocese.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Chukwu expressed gratitude for being part of the historic event adding God Almighty deserves all the glory for the feat.

He congratulated the Diocese on its 30-year milestone and pledged his full support in advancing the Church’s mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He reaffirmed his dedication to supporting faith-based initiatives and uplifting the community.

A highlight of the ceremony was the ceremonial unveiling and cutting of the anniversary cake, with Dr. Oluebube Chukwu joining other top dignitaries in the festive moment.

The occasion also featured goodwill remarks from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, representing Governor Dr. Alex Otti, who lit the anniversary candle on the governor’s behalf.

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of awards to individuals who have significantly contributed to the church’s growth and community development.

Dr. Chukwu was honoured with a prestigious award and medal, presented by Bishop Tasie, in recognition of his outstanding service and commitment to societal progress.

The anniversary service attracted a large gathering of church leaders, government officials, congregants, and well-wishers from across Abia State and beyond, underscoring the enduring legacy of the Diocese of Nneochi.
