March Polls:APC is bringing change to Abia- Meregini

Ahead of the March 9 Polls, the House of Assembly candidate for Umuahia East state Constituency under the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Hon Austin Meregini has expressed confidence that the APC would record an overwhelming victory come Saturday.

In a parley with our Reporter, Meregini said he was highly optimistic that his party would carry the day, come Saturday.

According to him,”Abians are in dare need for a change and APC is the only party that can bring the desired change”.

He said his expectations are for all the parties involved in the electoral process, like the security agencies to conduct themselves in an orderly manner so that the elections can be free and fair.

The candidate said the Nigerian Police Force are equal to the task as they have already given the assurance that everybody’s interest would be protected, stressing that come Saturday, all APC candidates would emerge Winners.

Meregini went ahead to dismiss the allegations levelled against him and his party that they organised the thugs that disrupted the Presidential and National House of Assembly Elections in Umuafai Ndume, because they knew that was a PDP stronghold.

In his words,” it’s not true we cannot do that.How can we disrupt an election we were leading? Rather it’s the Principal Secretary to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu that was intimidating people that came around to cast their vote”.

Recall that the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Abia state, Hon Emma Nwabuko had accused the APC of bringing out thugs to steal ballot papers at the Ndume ward 3, polling unit 17,Umuafai village square.

According to him they shot severally at the gate of the village hall where votes where be casted and disclosed that if not for the military men on ground, the hoodlums would have carted away with ballot papers.
