Manufacturers Of Fake Drinks Nabbed In Rivers

Rivers State Police Command say it has arrested two suspected manufacturers of fake alcoholic drinks in the Port Harcourt

The Command spokesperson, SP Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a release made available to Journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday, November 1st, 2021.

Omoni said the suspects, Akhayera Collins and Christian John were arrested by operatives of Puff Adder following a tip off at Eligbolo community in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.

He said, “On 22/10/2021 at about 1530hrs, operatives of Puff Adder, acting on credible information, led by the Commander SP Noble Uwoh stormed a hideout at Eligbolo Road Rumuokoro, where they burst a syndicate that engages in the manufacture of fake drinks believed to be dangerous to public health.

“In the course of the operation, two suspects were arrested, namely:

1. Akhayera Collins (Male) 41yrs

2. Christian John (male), while others took to flight”.

According to the Rivers Police image maker, “Exhibits recovered include; Assorted Wines, Spirits and several Alcoholic beverages; empty bottles waiting to be filled with the poisonous liquid/substances”.

Omoni however noted that the suspects who are currently helping the command with useful informations via useful confessions and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
