Manchester United have moved to trigger the one-year option in David De Gea’s contract. His present contract is due to end in the summer. This will allow the 28 year old Spain international to have talks with foreign clubs and even sign pre-contracts once the transfer window opens in January.
De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
It is understood that De Gea’s camp is open to contract extension but no agreement terms have been tabled.
